Shooting at Dallas ICE Center Leaves Two Detainees, Shooter Dead

A sniper opened fire on Wednesday from a rooftop of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office (ICE) in Dallas, TX.

The shooter fired haphazardly at the ICE building including a van where victims were shot. Three detainees were hit and one was killed. Two other detainees are being treated at a local hospital. None of the personnel were hurt during the shooting according to the Dallas police.

The suspect, who was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, has been identified as Josh Jahn.

One of the bullets found near the shooter had script that were “anti-ICE in nature,” according to Joe Rothrock, Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas FBI.

Kristi Noem, the head of the Department of Homeland Security posted a statement offering prayers to the families of the victims and said the attack was a product of ICE hatred.

“For months, we’ve been warning politicians and the media to tone down their rhetoric about ICE law enforcement before someone was killed. This shooting must serve as a wake-up call to the far-left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences,” Noem said.

Local authorities still have not named a motive for Wednesday’s shooting.

Jahn, 29, had ties to Texas and Oklahoma. He may have been living in Durant, OK at the time, but Dallas Police Chief David Corneaux said that they are still looking into that matter.

“The attack on ICE in Dallas is yet another despicable assault on law and order,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said.

Trump took to social media to ascribe blame to Liberals. He said that “Deranged Radical Leftists” were the cause of the violence and that attacks on the immigration agency “is the result of the Radical Left Democrats constantly demonizing Law Enforcement, calling for ICE to be demolished, and comparing ICE Officers to ‘Nazis.'”

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson said that this is an ongoing investigation and that the public should allow law enforcement to do their jobs.
